Carrots are one of my favorite foods. Most of the time, I wash it and eat it as raw food. Sometimes, if I think, there is any dust or soil over the carrots, I wash it and then peel it before juicing. In other words, it’s not necessary to peel the carrots before juicing. But, if you need to know a detailed answer to the question -” Do you need to peel them before juicing? ”, keep reading our article.

Not necessarily, the answer is not an automatic yes or no, why?

It depends on whether the carrots are organic or not. If they are organic you don’t need to peel the carrots before you juice them. However, it is still important that you wash them thoroughly as they can be coated with pesticides or other chemicals that could be bad for your body as well as detract from the flavor of your drink.

You should also rinse off any dirt or debris that has accumulated under the peel of the carrot so make sure that you thoroughly rinse them off. To me, I don’t peel mine either, There’s no reason to peel them unless they’re dirty. As long as they aren’t too thick, you can just cut them up into smaller pieces.

Some people like to use their carrot juicer without peeling because they feel it makes the juice more nutritious. If you want to keep the fiber intact, then you’ll probably have to remove it after juicing. A lot depends on what kind of juicer you have. Some juicers can be used with whole fruits and vegetables while others require you to first separate the fruit/vegetable from its skin.

There are two types of juicer basically masticating juicer and centrifugal juicer. masticating juicer is the best option to make carrot juice. it works slow and produces more juice than centrifugal juicer produces.

Masticating juicer grind and chew any hard and soft vegetables. carrot juicing quality is great if you use a slow or masticating juicer instead of a centrifugal juicer. Another sad news is that masticating juicer is very costly. but if you think to make carrot juice for the long term, the juicer is worth money.

There was a taste experiment conducted to see if people could tell the difference between peeled and unpeeled carrots. Unpeeled carrots had a stronger earthier and slightly bitter taste compared to their peeled counterparts.

How To Prepare Carrots For Juicing

The easiest way to prepare carrots for juicing is below.

  1. wash the carrots and rub the skin slightly to remove dust.
  2. Cut the carrots into small pieces (about half an inch).
  3. Put the carrots in the juicer with other ingredients.
  4. Press the start button.
  5. Wait until the juicer stops working.
  6. Strain out the pulp.
  7. Drink the juice immediately.

Most people like to hold the carrot over their garbage can or compost pail and use a vegetable peeler to take off the top layer of the carrot with a downward motion. A quicker method is to hold your carrot on a cutting board at a 45-degree angle and use your vegetable peeler to peel the carrot in a downward motion.

Place your carrots in a sink with equal parts white vinegar and water. The carrots will soak for 5-10 minutes, which should loosen any soil stuck on the carrots. Use a vegetable scrubber to gently wash harvested vegetables under running water.

Sometimes, carrot is hard and long enough. you can cut the carrot in the middle lengthwise make it 2 pieces and put it in the chute. If you cut it in many pieces, then the juicer works faster and it saves time.

Yes, you can juice the tops of the carrots. Just be sure to remove all of the leaves first. Then, place the whole carrot in the juicer.
